How to Make Cinnamon Rolls with Walnut Filling

  • Dissolve the yeast in warm water and keep it for 10 minutes. Sift the flour and salt together, and keep aside. Heat the milk, and just before it comes to a boil, add salt, sugar, and butter.
  • Stir it well and let it cool till it is lukewarm.
  • Add the yeast mixture in milk and keep it for another 5 minutes.
  • Add beaten eggs in the milk.
  • Add flour mixture slowly to the milk, stirring to form a smooth dough.
  • Cover and keep in a warm place for 2 hours; the dough should double.
  • Punch down, and let it rise again for about 45 minutes until nearly double.
  • In a small bowl, mix together sugar, brown sugar, and cinnamon powder.
  • Roll the dough out into rectangle about 1/2 inch thick.
  • Brush the dough with melted butter.
  • Sprinkle the sugar mixture over it. Top with chopped walnuts.
  • Roll the dough from top edge to bottom edge.
  • Pinch the ends to seal.
  • Cut the roll into 10 to 12 slices.
  • Place them 6 at a time on a lightly greased baking sheet.
  • Bake for about 20 minutes or until light brown.
  • In a bowl, mix all the ingredients of icing.
  • Beat with electric mixture till fluffy.
  • Drizzle the icing over the top of each roll.
