Ingredients

  • Cabbage - 1/4 kg finely chopped
  • Onion - 1, finely chopped
  • Coconut - 1/4 cup freshly grated
  • Turmeric powder - 1/20 tsp
  • Green chillies - 2-3
  • Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
  • Urad dal - 1 tsp
  • Curry leaves - A few
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil - 1 tsp

How to Make Coconut Cabbage Thoran

  • Mix cabbage, chopped green chillies and onion well
  • Boil the mixture with turmeric powder and salt.
  • In the meantime grind the coconut to a coarse paste.
  • Boil the vegetables.
  • Once the vegetables are boiled, heat oil in pan, add mustard seeds, urad dal, curry leaves and allow it to splutter.
  • Then pour the above over the boiled vegetables and mix it well.
  • Fry it for a minute and then add the paste and mix well.
  • Cook it for 2-3 mins more.
  • Serve hot with hot rice and sambhar.
