Ingredients

  • 1 cup - shredded fresh coconut
  • 1/3 cup - gram dal
  • 3 - green chillies
  • 3/4 tsp - salt
  • 1/4 cup - water
  • For seasoning: 1 tsp - oil
  • 1/4 tsp - mustard seeds
  • 4-5 curry leaves finely chopped
  • 1 pinch - asafoetida

How to Make Coconut chutney with green chillies

  • Grind coconut, dal, chillies, salt and enough water together till smooth.
  • Heat oil, splutter the seasoning ingredients. Pour the mixture over the chutney.
  • Mix gently.
  • Serve fresh with dosas, idlis, upma, utthapams, vadas, etc.
