Ingredients

  • 300 g - desiccated coconut
  • 1 tin - condensed milk
  • 200 g - sugar
  • 1 tsp - vanilla essence
  • 4 tbsp - ghee or butter
  • 1 cup - chopped almonds or cashew nuts
  • 1/2 cup - milk.

How to Make Coconut Fudge

  • Melt the sugar with the milk and condensed milk in a thick bottomed vessel.
  • Add the desiccated coconut and mix well.
  • Cook until the coconut is soft.
  • Now add the chopped almonds or cashew nuts, vanilla essence and ghee and mix well.
  • Simmer on low heat till the mixture thickens and leaves the sides of the vessel.
  • Pour onto a greased plate and decorate with a few almond slivers.
  • Let it cool then cut into squares.
