Ingredients

  • 2 cups - of basmati Rice (or any other raw Rice)
  • 1 cup - ground Coconut paste
  • 4 - Cloves
  • 4 - Cardamoms
  • 2 pieces - Cinnamon
  • 2 - Bay Leaves
  • 4 - Green chillies (slit lengthwise)
  • 1 tsp - chilli powder
  • 2 tsp - ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 3 tbsp - oil or Ghee
  • 2 - Onions (sliced finely)
  • 1 tsp - coriander powder
  • How to Make Coconut Pilau:

    1. Heat the oil or ghee in a vessel or rice cooker.
    2. Add onions, bay leaves, ginger garlic paste, green chillies and whole spices, and saute for a few minutes.
    3. Add turmeric powder, chilli powder, coriander powder, salt, washed rice, coconut paste and 4 cups of water and cook on low heat till the rice is done.
