Ingredients

  • Cooked Rice - 1 cup
  • Cooking oil - 2 tbsp
  • Urad dhal - 1 tbsp
  • Channa dhal - 1 tbsp
  • Red Chillies - 3
  • Salt to taste
  • Coconut, grated - 1 cup
  • Asafoetida - 2 pinches
  • How to Make Coconut Rice, Tamilian style:

    1. Heat oil in a pan and add urad dhal and channa dhal and fry till golden brown.
    2. Add red chillies, salt and coconut. Fry for 3 minutes.
    3. Spread the cooked rice in a big plate and top with ingredients from the pan and serve immediately
