Ingredients

  • For crust:
  • 2 cups - plain flour
  • 2 - Egg yolks
  • 1 tsp - baking powder
  • 1/4 cup - butter, softened it
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/4 cup - cold water (more if required)
  • 1 tbsp - Sugar
  • For filling:
  • 2cups - khoya
  • 1 tbsp - vanilla essence
  • 1 cup - Cream cheese
  • 3/4 cup - crumbled Paneer
  • 1/2 cup - sour Cream
  • 1/2 cup - Sugar
  • 2 - eggs
  • 1 tbsp - Lemon juice

How to Make Continental Easter Pie

  • Mix all the crust ingredients and make a dough.
  • Cover the dough and refrigerate for 3 hours.
  • Beat the eggs, sugar, and lemon juice in a bowl.
  • Add the remaining ingredients for the filling and beat well till smooth.
  • Remove the dough from the freezer. Place on a flour-dusted work surface.
  • Roll the dough into approximately a 12-inch circle.
  • Line a 9-inch pan with the dough and trim the excess.
  • The excess dough can be rolled into 4-inch long strips.
  • Refrigerate the pan and strips for 30 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 325 Fahrenheit.
  • Remove the pan from freezer.
  • Add the prepared filling into the crust.
  • Arrange the strips on top.
  • Brush the top strips with butter.
  • Bake for an hour or until golden brown.
  • Cool, cut into wedges, and serve.
