Ingredients

  • Chicken - 1 kg (bone less)
  • Onion - 200 g, sliced
  • Ghee or oil - 4 tbsp
  • Salt and Lime juice
  • For Masala:
  • Coriander seeds - 1 tbsp
  • Pepper - 1 tbsp
  • Cumin - 1 tsp
  • Cloves - 1 tsp
  • Cinnamon - 1 piece
  • Ginger - 1 tsp, minced
  • Garlic - 1 tsp, minced
  • How to Make Coorg Pepper Roast Chicken:

    1. Grind all the ingredients for masala to a smooth paste.
    2. Heat oil in a kadai; fry sliced onion till golden brown.
    3. Add masala, fry till fragrant.
    4. Add chicken, fry till it turns brown.
    5. Add salt and 1/2 cup water.
    6. Cover and simmer till chicken is cooked.
    7. Open the lid and cook on high flame, stirring till it is almost dry.
    8. Add lime juice.
