Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup - dried red chillies
  • 1 tbsp - oil
  • 3 tbsp - whole coriander seeds
  • 1 tbsp - tamarind (seedless)
  • 1 tsp - salt
  • 5 - garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tbsp - cumin seeds

How to Make Coriander Powder for Idli

  • Heat a medium-sized wok and add oil and chillies. Stir the chillies until they are fried (takes about 7 minutes).
  • Then add whole coriander seeds and fry them for about 4 mins.
  • Cut tamarind into small pieces and blend with salt and the above ingredients for about 4 mins.
  • Add garlic and cumin seeds to the above mixture and blend them for 5-6 seconds.
