Ingredients

  • 1 kg - chicken, cut into medium-sized pieces
  • 3 - large onions, sliced finely
  • 2 tsp - chilli powder
  • 1 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • 2 tbsp - oil
  • salt to taste
  • 2 tsp - Garlic paste
  • 2 small sticks - Cinnamon
  • 4 - Cloves
  • 2 - Cardamoms
  • 6-8 - whole pepper Corns
  • 2 - dry red chillies, broken into bits
  • How to Make Country Captain Chicken:

    1. Heat oil in a pan and fry the onions, cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, red chillies and pepper corns lightly.
    2. Add the chicken, mix in the garlic paste and saute for about 5 minutes on medium heat.
    3. Add the chilli powder, turmeric powder and salt.
    4. Mix well and stir-fry for a few minutes.
    5. Add 1/2 cup of water and cook until the chicken is tender and the gravy is quite thick.
