  • 4 - large crabs, cleaned
  • 1/2 cup - onion, minced
  • 2 - bread slices
  • 2 tbsp - oil
  • 1 tsp - garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp - green chillies, minced
  • 1/2 tsp - chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • salt to taste
  • eggs and bread crumbs for the coating
  • oil for frying
  • How to Make Crab Cutlet:

    1. Steam the cleaned crabs for 10 minutes. Crack the shells and remove the meat.
    2. Heat oil in a pan and saute the onion and garlic until pink.
    3. Add the green chilli, chilli powder and turmeric. Fry for a minute.
    4. Add the meat and salt. Mix well and remove from the heat.
    5. Soak the bread slices in water for a minute. Squeeze out the water, mash and add to the crab mixture.
    6. Cool the mixture and shape into 4 cm round discs.
    7. Dip the discs in lightly beaten egg. Then roll in the breadcrumbs.
    8. Heat oil in a pan and deep fry.
    9. Serve hot with tomato sauce.
