Ingredients

  • Crab - 1/2 kg
  • Saunf -1/2 tsp
  • Cloves - a pinch
  • Turmeric powder -1/2 tsp
  • Poppy Seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • Curry leaves -few sprigs
  • Ginger -1 tsp
  • Garlic - 1 tsp
  • Coconut - 1
  • Coriander powder - 1 tsp
  • Kashmiri chilli powder -1 tsp
  • Onions -2
  • Pepper - 1/2 tsp
  • Tomatoes - 2
  • Salt to taste
  • How to Make Crab Pollichathu:

    1. Grind all ingredients, except tomatoes and curry leaves, to make the masala.
    2. Extract 3 cups of coconut milk.
    3. Pour gingelly oil and fry the curry leaves and masala paste.
    4. Then put the tomatoes into pan and fry it with masala till it is cooked.
    5. Put in the cleaned crab and mix it with the masala and cook for a few minutes.
    6. Pour the thick coconut milk and cook till you get a thick gravy.
