Ingredients

  • Crab - 1/2 kg
  • Saunf -1/2 tsp
  • Cloves - a pinch
  • Turmeric powder -1/2 tsp
  • Poppy seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • Curry leaves -few sprigs
  • Ginger -1 tsp
  • Garlic - 1 tsp
  • Coconut - 1
  • Coriander powder - 1 tsp
  • Kashmiri chilli powder -1 tsp
  • Onions -2
  • Pepper - 1/2 tsp
  • Tomatoes - 2
  • Salt to taste

How to Make Crab Pollichathu

  • Grind all ingredients, except tomatoes and curry leaves, to make the masala.
  • Extract 3 cups of coconut milk.
  • Pour gingelly oil and fry the curry leaves and masala paste.
  • Then put the tomatoes into pan and fry it with masala till it is cooked.
  • Put in the cleaned crab and mix it with the masala and cook for a few minutes.
  • Pour the thick coconut milk and cook till you get a thick gravy.
