Ingredients

  • 4 - large crabs
  • 2 cups - thick Coconut Milk
  • salt to taste
  • Ingredients to be pounded: 10 or more - Dried red chillies (soaked in water)
  • 3 - Lemon grass (use the white part only)
  • 1/2 tsp - fresh Turmeric
  • 5 pips - Garlic
  • 1.5" piece - Ginger
  • 4 - large Bombay Onions or 15 Shallots
  • 2 cm piece - Galangal (lengkuas)
  • 1/2 tsp - Cumin seeds
  • How to Make Crab Rendang:

    1. Heat oil in a wok.
    2. Stir-fry the pounded ingredients until fragrant.
    3. Add the coconut milk and let the mixture simmer gently.
    4. Add the crabs and cook until the required thickness.
