  • Cucumber - 2 or 3 (finely chopped)
  • Onion - 1 (finely chopped)
  • Garlic - 2 to 3 flakes (finely chopped
  • Mustard seeds - 1/4 tsp
  • Jeera - 1/4 tsp
  • Red chilli powder (to taste)
  • Tomatoes - 2 or 3 (cut into cubes)
  • Haldi powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Hing - a pinch
  • Goda masala - 1/4 or 1/2 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Coriander leaves for garnishing (finely chopped)
  • Oil - 2 to 3 tbsp

How to Make Cucumber Koottu

  • Heat oil in a pan, put mustard seeds. After it splutters, add jeera.
  • When it becomes dark brown in colour, add garlic.
  • When it starts turning a little brown in colour, add the onions, fry till they turn golden brown, then add tomatoes and fry till the raw smell goes.
  • Now add the finely chopped cucumber with some haldi, hing and red chilli powder.
  • After it gets cooked well, add the goda masala, salt and garnish it with coriander leaves.
  • Serve hot with rice and dal or with roti.
