Ingredients

  • 1 cup - sooji
  • 1 - cucumber peeled and grated
  • 2 - green chillies crushed
  • 2 tsp -chopped coriander
  • Salt to taste
  • Ghee for shallow frying

How to Make Cucumber Thalipeeth

  • Mix grated cucumber, sooji, crushed green chillies and chopped coriander.
  • Add salt to taste.
  • Make a soft dough like chapatti dough.
  • Add little water if required.
  • Meanwhile grease a griddle and heat it.
  • Make 3 inch balls of the dough.
  • Take a clean plastic sheet and grease it with ghee on one side.
  • Place one ball on the centre of the sheet and flatten with hand.
  • Keep flattening in circular motions to make a round uniform disk.
  • Dip hand in water, if required so that the dough does not stick to your hand.
  • Once the griddle is hot, turn heat to medium.
  • Lift the disc along with the sheet gently and turn the sheet over the greased griddle.
  • Transfer the disk to the griddle.
  • Quickly remove the plastic sheet.
  • Make 5 holes at different places on the round disk with your finger.
  • Pour ghee on the edges and in the 5 holes.
  • Cover for a few minutes.
  • Remove the lid after a few minutes and turn it upside down.
  • Cook for a few minutes more till crisp.
  • Serve hot with butter or Achar.
