Ingredients

  • 3 - large potatoes, boiled and cut into medium-sized pieces
  • 2 - onions, sliced finely
  • 2 - tomatoes, chopped
  • 2 tbsp - oil
  • 1 - green chilli, chopped
  • 1 tsp - chilli powder
  • 1 tsp - cumin powder
  • 1/4 tsp - turmeric
  • 1 tsp - sugar
  • salt to taste
  • few curry leaves
  • 1 tsp - chopped ginger
  • 1 tsp - cumin seeds

How to Make Cumin-flavoured Potato Fry

  • Heat oil in a pan and saute the onions, curry leaves, cumin seeds, ginger, and green chillies for about 5 minutes.
  • Add the chopped tomatoes, chilli powder, cumin powder, turmeric powder, sugar, and salt and cook on low heat till the tomatoes turn pulpy.
  • Add 3 tablespoons of water and simmer for 2 minutes.
  • Now add the boiled potatoes and mix well.
  • Turn off heat after 2 minutes.
  • Serve with chapatis or rice.
