Ingredients

  • 1 - beetroot, peeled and chopped
  • 1 - Onion chopped
  • 1 - Tomato chopped
  • 3 - green chillies, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp - cumin powder
  • 1 tsp - chopped Garlic
  • 1 tsp - chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp - Mustard Seeds
  • 6 - Curry leaves
  • 2 tbsp - cooking oil
  • salt to taste

How to Make Curried Beetroot

  • Heat oil in a pan and add the mustard seeds.
  • When they begin to splutter, add the chopped onions and fry till golden brown.
  • Add the curry leaves, tomato, garlic, and green chilli and saute for some time.
  • Add the beetroot, salt, cumin powder, and chilli powder and mix well.
  • Add sufficient water and cook on low heat till tender and the gravy becomes thick.
  • Serve.
