Ingredients

  • 250 g - Turai
  • 100 g - besan flour
  • 1 - Tomato
  • 1 tsp - Cumin seed
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/4 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp - Red Chilli powder
  • 1 tsp - coriander powder
  • 1 tbsp - oil for cooking
  • 1 cup - Coriander leaves
  • How to Make Curried Turai with Dumplings:

    1. For the dumplings: Take 100 g besan flour, add salt and any spices
    2. Knead into a dough and make small balls or dumplings. Keep aside.
    3. For the curry:
    4. Peel and cut turai into cubes. Make tomato puree.
    5. Heat oil in the pan, add cumin seeds.
    6. When the cumin seeds start crackling, add tomato puree, salt and the spices
    7. When the gravy boils, add chopped turai and coriander leaves, and mix well
    8. Add a cup of water and the dumplings; cook till turai is tender and the dumplings, cooked
