Ingredients

  • Fresh Curry leaves - 1 Cup
  • Coriander seeds - 1 Cup
  • Black gram dal/Urad dal - 2 tsp
  • cumin seeds/Jeera seeds - 2 tsp
  • Tamarind - a small ball of the size of a Lemon
  • Fenugreek seeds/Methi seeds - 3, 4 seeds
  • Salt to taste
  • Ghee/Oil for frying - 3 tsp
  • How to Make Curry leaves Karapodi:

    1. In a small pan, add 3 tsps of ghee/oil.
    2. After it gets hot, add the all the ingredients - except salt - and fry well till they turn reddish brown in colour.
    3. Remove them from heat and cool them for some time.
    4. Then add salt and grind everything well into a smooth powder.
    5. Store it in an air-tight container.
