  • 250 gms - Split green lentils (without skin)
  • 2 tbsp - Garlic, chopped
  • 1 tbsp - Green chillies, chopped
  • 2 inch stick - Cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp - Red Chilli powder
  • 1.5 cups - Spinach, washed, discard stems, finely chopped
  • 3 tbsp - Oil
  • Salt to taste

How to Make Daal Palak

  • Cook lentils in 750 ml of water alongwith salt, turmeric powder and cinnamon until soft. Add more water if required.
  • Meanwhile heat oil in a pan and saute garlic until edges become pink.
  • Add green chillies and saute for 30 seconds.
  • Remove from heat. Add red chilli powder to the pan, and mix with the lentils alongwith the spinach, cook for 2 mins.
  • Garnish and serve.
