How to Make Dal Benis

  • Cook soaked dal well with 1/2 onions, tomatoes, and turmeric in 2 cups of water.
  • Fry onions and garlic in a kadai.
  • Grind it with coconut and coriander to make a paste.
  • To the cooked the dal, add chilli powder and salt and boil for 5-10 mins, adding a little water to it.
  • Add the ground paste to the dal and boil for another 10 mins on low fire till smell of the masala leaves.
  • Serve hot with chapattis, dosas or hot rice with ghee on it.
