Ingredients

  • Maida - 1 cup
  • Ghee - as per need
  • Channa dal - 1 cup
  • Oil - to taste
  • Salt - to taste
  • Cumin - a few
  • Onions - 2
  • Chaat masala - 1 tbsp
  • Curry leaves - a few
  • How to Make Dal Pakvan:

    1. Mix ghee, salt and maida.
    2. Knead the dough, keep it aside for 1/2 hr.
    3. Cook channa dal in a pressure cooker till done
    4. Heat oil in a pan.
    5. Add onions, cumin, curry leaves.
    6. As the onions become brown, add to the dal. Boil for 5 mins.
    7. Add chaat masala when serving.
    8. Make thick puris using the dough that has been kept aside. Deep fry
    9. Once it becomes golden, remove from the pan
    10. Serve with channa dal and some onions
