  • Maida - 1 cup
  • Ghee - as per need
  • Channa dal - 1 cup
  • Oil - to taste
  • Salt - to taste
  • Cumin - a few
  • Onions - 2
  • Chaat masala - 1 tbsp
  • Curry leaves - a few

How to Make Dal Pakvan

  • Mix ghee, salt and maida.
  • Knead the dough, keep it aside for 1/2 hr.
  • Cook channa dal in a pressure cooker till done
  • Heat oil in a pan.
  • Add onions, cumin, curry leaves.
  • As the onions become brown, add to the dal. Boil for 5 mins.
  • Add chaat masala when serving.
  • Make thick puris using the dough that has been kept aside. Deep fry
  • Once it becomes golden, remove from the pan
  • Serve with channa dal and some onions
