Ingredients

  • 1 cup - toor dal, soaked
  • 1 cup - Spinach leaves
  • 1 - tomato, finely chopped
  • 1 - onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp - ginger- Garlic paste
  • 1 tsp - Red Chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp - coriander powder
  • 2 tbsp - Lime juice
  • 2 tbsp - oil
  • 1/2 tsp - cumin
  • A pinch - Asafoetida
  • 2 - Green chillies finely chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • How to Make Dal palak:

    1. Cook toor dal in a vessel.
    2. When it is 3/4 cooked, add spinach leaves, onion, tomato, salt, turmeric powder, ginger garlic paste and asafoetida to it.
    3. Cook till done
    4. In a frying pan, heat the oil and add all the ingredients for seasoning (except lime juice) and pour it over the cooked dal.
    5. Now add lime juice in it and mix well.
    6. Serve
