How to Make Dal Squares

  • Soak the dal in water for 2 hours
  • Grind to form a smooth, semi solid batter
  • Now add the onion, green chillies, coriander leaves, turmeric, asafoetida, grated coconut, and salt
  • Pour in a deep, greased container with a depth of about 1 cm and steam for 15 minutes
  • Cool and cut into small squares
  • Deep fry in hot oil and serve with chutney.
