How to Make Dali Thoy

  • Pressure cook the dal with 2 cups of water and green chillies for 10 mins.
  • Let it rest for 15 minutes.
  • Now mash the dal with a ladle.
  • Add salt to taste and water for desired consistency. Let it boil
  • Heat the ghee or oil in a small pan and splutter the mustard.
  • To this add the red chilli, asafoetida and curry leaves.
  • Saute and add to the dal. Mix well
  • Serve hot with steamed rice or chapati.
