How to Make Dalsa

  • Boil the dal with chopped tomato in a pressure cooker.
  • When soft, mash well and add 1.5 cups water, salt, haldi, mirchi powder, coriander leaves and some chopped curry leaves.
  • When the dal is boiling, add tamarind pulp, mix well and boil for five more minutes on medium flame.
  • Remove and keep aside.
  • Season the dal with mustard and cumin seeds, urad dal, garlic and curry leaves.
  • Serve hot with rice, pickle and papad.
