Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups - plain flour
  • 1/2 cup - Milk
  • 100 g - Butter
  • 1.25 cups - Sugar
  • 1 - Egg
  • 1 cup - dates, pitted and chopped
  • 1 cup - boiling water
  • 1/2 cup - chopped Walnuts
  • 1 tsp - baking soda
  • 1 tsp - baking powder

How to Make Date Cake(with Eggs)

  • Preheat oven to 350 degree F.
  • Add dates, baking soda and baking powder to boiling water, and let it cool.
  • Sift the flour.
  • Beat the egg.
  • Cream butter and sugar.
  • Add the egg to the butter and sugar mixture.
  • To this, add flour and date mixture.
  • Add milk and half the walnuts.
  • Bake in a 20-cm round tin for 60 minutes.
  • Remove and let it cool on a wire rack.
  • Garnish the cake with the remaining walnuts.
