Ingredients

  • 200 gm flour
  • 100 gm rolled oats
  • 300 gm Dates
  • 150 gm Sugar
  • 1 Lemon
  • 150 gm Butter
  • How to Make Date Crunchies:

    1. Grate the rind of lemon.
    2. Mix flour, oats, sugar and lemon rind in a bowl.
    3. Melt butter and add to the mixture.
    4. Mix well with a spoon until the mixture is crumbly.
    5. Grease a baking tin. Sprinkle half the mixture evenly into the tin and press it down well.
    6. Stone the dates and chop them into small pieces. Cook them in 4 tsps of water until pulpy.
    7. Spread the date pulp over the mixture in the baking tin and smooth over with a palette knife.
    8. Sprinkle the rest of the flour mixture and press down well.
    9. Bake in an oven at 350 degrees F for one hour.
