Ingredients

  • 100 g - deseeded soft dates, chopped
  • 100 g - Tamarind or Amchoor
  • 250 g - jaggery, grated
  • 1 tbsp - Musk melon seeds, skinned
  • 1 tsp - cumin powder
  • 1 tsp - chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp - crushed Mustard Seeds
  • 1/2 tsp - black salt
  • 2 to 3 Cloves - garlic, crushed (optional)
  • Salt - to taste
  • How to Make Dates Chutney:

    1. Soak amchoor or tamarind in 250 ml water, for 30 minutes.
    2. Boil it in the same water till mushy and thick.
    3. Cool a little, strain and keep aside.
    4. Boil dates in 200 ml water, till it is almost dry.
    5. Add jaggery, stir till it melts and take off fire.
    6. Add prepared paste and all other ingredients.
    7. Cool completely before storing in airtight container.
    8. Refrigerate and use as a chutney.
