Ingredients

  • 1 cup - Rava/Sooji (120 gm)
  • 3/4 cup - Chopped or blended seedless Dates (100 gm)
  • 1 cup - Milk (250 ml)
  • 2 tbsp - Oil
  • 2 tbsp - Ghee
  • 1/4 cup - Granulated Sugar (55 gm)
  • 1 tsp - Baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp - Cardamom powder
  • 3 to 4 - Cashew nuts, broken into small pieces

How to Make Dates Rava (Sooji) Cake

  • Roast the rava on medium flame for 3-4 minutes or till you get a nice aroma and keep aside.
  • Mix the sugar, cardamom powder, cashew nuts and baking powder well and add to rava.
  • Next add milk, oil and ghee to the rava mixture and mix well.
  • Finally add the chopped/blended dates and mix well. Keep aside for 10 minutes.
  • Pre-heat the oven to 180 degrees C and bake for 30-35 minutes. If a knife comes out clean, your cake is done.
  • Allow it to cool completely before cutting.
