Ingredients

  • 2 cups - Rice powder, processed, roasted
  • 1/4 cup - roasted urad dhal powder
  • 1 tbsp - Cardamom powder
  • 1 cup - freshly grated Coconut
  • 1 tsp - white sesame seeds
  • 2 cups - Jaggery

How to Make Delicious Vella Cheedai

  • Take 2 cups of water (same amount as the rice powder) in a wide mouthed vessel. Add jaggery and boil it.
  • Once it starts boiling and the jaggery is fully mixed, take it out and filter it to remove foreign particles.
  • Boil the clean jaggery water again. Once it starts boiling, add coconut, white sesame and cardamom.
  • Add rice powder a little at a time till a dough is formed. Remove from fire.
  • Now add roasted urad dhal powder a little at a time and mix well.
  • Make small balls and deep fry it.
