  • 1 cup Toor dhal
  • 2-3 cups Water
  • 1-2 tsp Oil
  • 1-2 tsp Mustard Seeds
  • 1 Onion
  • 1-2 Tomatoes
  • 1/2 tbsp Jeera (cumin) seeds
  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 to 1 tsp Ginger paste
  • A few Green chillies
  • How to Make Dhal Fry:

    1. Cook the dal in water.
    2. Meanwhile, chop onions and tomatoes and keep aside.
    3. Heat oil. Add mustard seeds. When they pop, add onions.
    4. Fry onions till they turn brown.
    5. By this time dal should be done. Stir it and mix it.
    6. Add the dal and green chillies into the frying pan and mix everything together.
    7. Take the ginger paste (to make it easier to stir, put the paste in a little bit of water,) the turmeric powder, jeera seeds, mix the solution and mix in with dal.
    8. Cook for about 10 minutes after. Eat with rice.
