  • 1 cup - sooji (rava)
  • 1 cup - curd
  • Few flakes - ginger
  • 2 - green chillies
  • 1 tsp - turmeric
  • 1 tsp - sesame seeds
  • 1 tsp - mustard (rai)
  • Coriander leaves
  • Salt to taste

How to Make Dhokla Lajawab

  • Add the curd to rava and ferment it for overnight.
  • In the morning, when the mixture has raised slightly than the normal level, add the few flakes of ginger into it along with salt, turmeric and green chillies.
  • Take the vessel to make dhokla or some flat bottomed vessel that will fit the cooker and put the mixture into it.
  • Put the lid of the pressure cooker and allow it to steam without the weight for 15 to 20 mins.
  • After 15 to 20 mins, switch off the cooker.
  • When the cooker cools down then place the cooked dhokla in the plate and cut it into squares.
  • Take a small pan and then put some oil.
  • Add sesame seeds and mustard.
  • When the mustard begins to spurt then put it on the dhokla.
  • Garnish it with coriander leaves.
