Ingredients

  • For batter:
  • 1 cup - sooji/rava/semolina
  • 1 cup - yogurt
  • 1/4 cup - water
  • salt
  • a pinch - Hing
  • 1/4 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp - green chilli, chopped
  • 2 tbsp - Coriander leaves (cilantro), chopped
  • 1 tbsp - coconut, grated
  • 2 tsp - Lemon juice
  • To season in 1 tbsp oil:
  • 1 tsp - Jeera (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp - Mustard Seeds
  • Other ingredients:
  • 1 tsp - eno fruit salt
  • How to Make Dhokla:

    1. Mix all the ingredients for the batter and let it rest for 30 minutes.
    2. Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds and jeera and allow it to crackle.
    3. Pour this into the batter.
    4. Add eno fruit salt. Mix the batter well.
    5. Steam on high flame in greased idli plates for 12 minutes.
