Ingredients

  • 1 l - milk
  • 1 tbsp - basmati rice
  • 1/2 cup - sugar
  • a few strands of saffron
  • 1/2 tsp - cardamom powder
  • 1/8 tsp - nutmeg powder
  • a few slices of almonds and pistachios

How to Make Doodh Pak

  • Apply a little ghee to the inner surface of a vessel with a thick bottom. Boil the milk in it.
  • Wash the rice. Apply a little ghee to the rice so that the grains do not stick to each other. Pour in the boiling milk.
  • Continue boiling the milk on low flame, stirring in between.
  • When the rice in the milk is fully cooked, add sugar.
  • Boil till the required sweetness is attained.
  • Add saffron, cardamom powder, nutmeg powder and slices of almonds and pistachios. Serve hot or chilled.
