  • 1 - Lauki/Bottle gourd
  • 1 cup - Milk
  • 2 cups - Sugar
  • 4-5 tsp - Ghee
  • 1 - Cardamom pod
  • 10-12 - Raisins/Sultanas (optional)

How to Make Doodhi- Lauki Halwa - Sweet Bottle gourd Pudding

  • Peel and grate lauki.
  • In a pan, add grated lauki and milk and cook the lauki till tender and well cooked.
  • Once the liquid evaporates, add sugar to it and mix well.
  • Cook further till all the liquid content evaporates and the sugar melts.
  • Now add ghee teaspoon by teaspoon with continuous mixing.
  • Add crushed cardamom to the mixture on the pan.
  • Mix well and cook till the mixture moves together leaving sides.
