Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup - Butter
  • 1 cup - Brown sugar
  • 1 - Egg
  • 3/4 cup - flour
  • 1 tsp - baking powder
  • 1 tsp - vanilla extract (essence)
  • 3/4 cup - chopped assorted nuts
  • 1 package (6 ounces) - butterscotch flavoured pieces
  • How to Make Double Butterscotch Brownies:

    1. In a medium glass bowl, microwave butter on 'high' until it melts. Stir in sugar, egg, flour, baking powder, vanilla extract and nuts.
    2. Pour the batter into a greased 8 or 9-inch round baking dish.
    3. Microwave on 'medium' for 7- 8.5 minutes. Let it stand covered for 10 minutes.
    4. Meanwhile, in a small glass bowl, microwave butterscotch for 3-4 minutes or until it melts.
    5. Add food colouring, stirring until smooth.
    6. Spread over the brownies. Cut into squares and serve.
