Ingredients

  • 2 - eggs
  • 2 cups - all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup - unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp - baking soda
  • 6 tbsp - unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 cup - granulated sugar
  • 1 cup - walnuts, chopped
  • 3/4 cup - semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tbsp - confectioners' sugar
  • 1 tsp - salt

How to Make Double Chocolate Walnut Biscotti

  • Pre-heat an oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Add butter and flour on a large baking sheet.
  • In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda and salt.
  • In another bowl, beat butter and granulated sugar together with an electric mixer, until light and fluffy.
  • Add the eggs and beat until it combines well.
  • Stir in the flour mixture to form a stiff dough.
  • Stir in walnuts and chocolate chips.
  • On prepared baking sheet, prepare the dough with floured hands into two slightly flattened logs, each 12 inches long and 2 inches wide. Sprinkle confectioners' sugar.
  • Bake the logs for 35 minutes or until slightly firm to the touch.
  • Cool the biscotti on a baking sheet for 5 minutes.
  • On a cutting board, cut the biscotti diagonally into 3/4-inch slices.
  • Arrange the biscotti, cut sides down, on the baking sheet and bake until crisp for about 10 minutes.
  • Cool on a rack.
  • Store the biscotti in air-tight containers for a week or keep it frozen for a month.
