Ingredients

  • 200 g - dried prawns or shrimps.
  • 6 - medium size onions, chopped finely.
  • 300 g - oil.
  • 2 tsp - chilli powder.
  • 1 tbsp - chopped garlic.
  • 1 tbsp - cumin powder.
  • 4 tbsp - vinegar.

How to Make Dried Prawn Balchao

  • Wash the dried prawns well and remove all the sandy residue.
  • Drain off all the water.
  • Heat oil in a pan and fry the prawns, till golden brown.
  • Remove and keep aside.
  • Fry the onions in the remaining oil, till light brown.
  • Add the chopped garlic, chilli powder, cumin powder, vinegar and saute for 10 minutes.
  • Now add the fried prawns and simmer till dry.
