Ingredients

  • 200 g - tender drumstick leaves
  • 100 g - tur dal
  • 1 onion, medium, cut into small pieces
  • 3 green chilli, cut into small pieces
  • 4 red chilli
  • 1 tbsp - til
  • 1 tsp - dhania seeds
  • 1/2 tsp - jeera
  • 1/2 tsp - mustard seeds
  • 10 curry leaves
  • 6 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 1 tbsp - dry coconut powder
  • 1/8 tsp - turmeric
  • salt
  • 1 tbsp - oil

How to Make Drumstick Leaves Dry Curry

  • Dry fry the red chillies, til, jeera, coconut powder each separately
  • Make a coarse powder, keep aside
  • Boil drumstick leaves with some salt and turmeric
  • Drain, squeeze out the water if necessary (do not mash).
  • Cook tur dal till it is soft but not mashed
  • Combine leaves and dal gently, keep aside.
  • Heat oil, add mustard seeds, curry leaves, crushed garlic
  • Fry till the seeds splutter
  • Add onion, green chilli and fry for 2 mins till the onion changes colour
  • Add boiled leaves and dal
  • Mix salt, stir well, and cook covered for 2 mins
  • Remove lid and sprinkle the masala powder
  • Mix well and remove.
