Ingredients

  • 500 gms - baby potatoes
  • 1/2 tsp - haldi
  • 1/2 tsp - red chilly powder
  • salt to taste
  • 15 to 20 - garlic cloves
  • 2 inches- ginger
  • 4 tsp - coriander seeds
  • 4 tsp - peppercorns
  • 1 tsp - jeera
  • 3 to 4 tsp - oil

How to Make Dum Aloo with Baby Potatoes

  • Boil the baby potatoes and pierce softly with a fork.
  • Grind all the other ingredients (except the oil and jeera) in a mixie to make it a soft paste.
  • Now marinate the baby potatoes with this paste for about half an hour.
  • After half an hour take a kadai and pour a little oil.
  • Add jeera to the hot oil and when it splutters add the potatoes and fry till it attains a golden brown colour.
  • Add little water to the fried baby potatoes and close the kadai.
  • Put of the flame after 5 minutes.
  • This can be served with hot rotis.
