Ingredients

  • 4 to 5 - medium Potatoes
  • 1 cup - frozen peas
  • 1 cup - Tomato sauce or puree
  • 1 tsp each -ginger, garlic, chilli paste
  • 1 tbsp - coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp - Haldi
  • 1/2 tsp - Garam Masala
  • 1 tsp - Red Chilli powder
  • 1 tbsp - dry Fenugreek leaves
  • 1 tsp - Cumin seeds
  • 5 tbsp - oil
  • 1/2 cup - sour Cream or yogurt
  • Pinch of Hing
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 cups - water
  • How to Make Easy Aloo Matar:

    1. Heat oil in a pressure cooker.
    2. Add cumin, hing, chilli paste, ginger paste, and garlic paste, and fry for 1 minute.
    3. Add tomato sauce and fry for 3 to 4 minutes.
    4. Add all dry masala except fenugreek leaves. Fry for 1 to 2 minutes.
    5. Now add potatoes and fry for 1 minute.
    6. Add peas and 2 cups of water.
    7. Pressure cook on medium heat for 8 to 10 minutes or till 2 whistles.
    8. Take the steam out.
    9. Open cooker and put on medium heat.
    10. Now add sour cream and cook for 2 to 3 minutes.
    11. Add dry fenugreek leaves, mix well and serve with puri, paratha, or chapati.
