Ingredients

  • 30g - Butter
  • 1 1/2 tbsp - plain flour (maida)
  • 1 1/4 cups - Milk
  • 3/4th cup - grated cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 - broccoli, cut into florets
  • 1 tbsp - chopped Mint
  • Golden crumb topping
  • 30 g - Butter
  • 1.5 cups - fresh breadcrumbs
  • 4 tbsp - coriander or Parsley
  • How to Make Easy Broccoli Au Gratin:

    1. Melt butter in a microwave safe dish for 1/2 a min. on HIGH.
    2. Whisk in the flour and cook further on HIGH for 20 seconds.
    3. Gradually, whisk in the milk until the flour, butter and milk are well combined.
    4. Cook on HIGH for 4 mins, whisking after 2 mins.
    5. Mix the grated cheese into this and keep aside.
    6. Cover the broccoli and cook for 5 mins. on HIGH.
    7. Pour the cheese mixture over the cooked broccoli and cook for 1 min. on HIGH.
    8. Golden Crumb Topping:
    9. Melt the butter in a non-stick frying pan and add the breadcrumbs.
    10. Cook until the crumbs turn golden in colour.
    11. Sprinkle the crumbs and coriander over the broccoli. Serve hot.
