Ingredients

  • 30g - Butter
  • 1 1/2 tbsp - plain flour (maida)
  • 1 1/4 cups - Milk
  • 3/4th cup - grated cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 - broccoli, cut into florets
  • 1 tbsp - chopped Mint
  • Golden crumb topping
  • 30 g - Butter
  • 1.5 cups - fresh breadcrumbs
  • 4 tbsp - coriander or Parsley

How to Make Easy Broccoli Au Gratin

  • Melt butter in a microwave safe dish for 1/2 a min. on HIGH.
  • Whisk in the flour and cook further on HIGH for 20 seconds.
  • Gradually, whisk in the milk until the flour, butter and milk are well combined.
  • Cook on HIGH for 4 mins, whisking after 2 mins.
  • Mix the grated cheese into this and keep aside.
  • Cover the broccoli and cook for 5 mins. on HIGH.
  • Pour the cheese mixture over the cooked broccoli and cook for 1 min. on HIGH.
  • Golden Crumb Topping:
  • Melt the butter in a non-stick frying pan and add the breadcrumbs.
  • Cook until the crumbs turn golden in colour.
  • Sprinkle the crumbs and coriander over the broccoli. Serve hot.
