Ingredients

  • 2 lbs - chicken (breast meat or leg quarters with bones)
  • 2 - medium onions, sliced
  • 4 tbsp - curry powder (or 2 tsp - cumin powder, 2 tsp - coriander powder, 1/2 tsp - turmeric powder, 2 tsp - chilli powder)
  • 8 - curry leaves
  • 2 tbsp - olive oil
  • 3 - cloves
  • 1/2 inch - cinnamon stick
  • 1 cup - yogurt
  • 1 - tomato
  • 2 tbsp - lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup - coriander leaves, chopped for garnish

How to Make Easy Chicken Masala Fry

  • Cut the chicken into medium-sized pieces, clean, and add salt and the curry powders and marinate for 15 minutes.
  • Heat olive oil, fry the sliced onion, cloves and cinnamon stick.
  • When onion turns golden, add the chicken, curry leaves and saute for a couple of minutes.
  • Then add yogurt, tomato and stir a few turns and add 2 cups of water and lemon juice.
  • Cook till chicken is tender, add salt to taste, garnish with coriander leaves.
