  • 4 - karelas
  • 3 - onions (medium size)(chopped)
  • 1 - tbsp oil
  • little yoghurt(to season )
  • 1 tbsp- ginger chilli paste
  • few leaves of curry patta
  • 2 tsp - sugar
  • 1 tsp- garam masala
  • 2 tbsp - dhania powder
  • kajus and coriander for garnishing
  • salt to taste

How to Make Easy Karela Recipe

  • Slice the karelas and soak it in salt water for an hour and leave it aside.
  • After an hour press the karelas between yours palms and drain all the water out.
  • Heat 1 tsp of oil in a pan, add yoghurt, ginger -chilli paste and the curry patta.
  • Put the chopped onions with a little salt and mix well.
  • Once the onions turn crispy brown, add the karelas and mix well.
  • Do not add much salt as karela is already soaked in salt water.
  • Add sugar and garam masala.
  • Keep it on fire for another 5 to 10 minutes. Once karelas turn dark, add the dhania powder and mix well. Garnish with kaju and coriander.
