  • 1 - tomato, chopped
  • Turmeric powder
  • salt, Sugar to taste
  • 1/2 cup - Green peas (optional)
  • How to Make Easy Prawn ( Bengali Style ):

    1. Heat a little mustard oil in a kadai to smoking point.
    2. Bring down the flame to medium heat.
    3. Sprinkle a pinch of kalonji. Wait until you get the strong smell of fried kalonji.
    4. Add the cubed potatoes, along with turmeric and salt.
    5. Keep stirring potato cubes for a while till they start turning brown.
    6. Add the shrimps.
    7. Add a little more salt and sugar to taste and keep stirring.
    8. When the shrimps take on a reddish tint, add the diced tomatoes and close the lid after mixing well.
    9. You can also add some green peas at this point, as they will add to the volume, colour and flavour of the curry.
    10. After 4-5 minutes, you can check the gravy in the kadai.
    11. Do not add any water if you want your curry to be dry.
    12. Sprinkle more salt according to taste and when the gravy is boiling at high heat, add the chopped green chillies.
    13. Your curry is done when the gravy is as thick as you want it to be.
