Ingredients

  • 10-12 - medium sized prawns.
  • 2- Bay Leaves - 2.
  • 2 tbsp - Onion paste.
  • 1.5 tsp - Ginger paste.
  • 1 tsp - Garlic paste.
  • 2 tbsp - Tomato puree.
  • 1/2 cup - Coconut milk.
  • 1 tbsp - ghee.
  • 1/2 tsp - Turmeric powder.
  • 1 tsp - chilli powder.
  • salt to taste.
  • 1/2 tsp - sugar.
  • 1/2 tsp - Garam Masala powder (cardamom, Cloves and cinnamon).
  • coriander Leaves.
  • 3 tbsp - cooking oil (mustard oil preferable).
  • How to Make Easy Prawn Malai Curry:

    1. Wash and pat dry the prawns.
    2. Sprinkle salt and turmeric powder on them.
    3. Keep it aside.
    4. Heat cooking oil in a frying pan.
    5. Fry the prawns till it turns light golden.
    6. Leave them aside.
    7. Add two bay leaves in the remaining oil (while it's still hot from frying).
    8. Add onion, ginger and garlic paste carefully into the oil and stir for a minute.
    9. Add tomato puree, turmeric powder, chilli powder, sugar and salt and stir till oil gets separated from the mixture.
    10. Add the prawns now and mix with them well.
    11. Slowly add the coconut milk and then add half a cup of water and bring it to boil in low heat.
    12. When the curry thickens, spread the ghee and garam masala powder evenly all around the pan.
    13. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with rice / naan.
