Ingredients

  • Tamarind - gooseberry size
  • Turmeric powder - a pinch
  • Hing - 1/4 tsp
  • salt - to taste
  • Tomato - 3(optional)
  • For seasoning:
  • Red Chillies - 3
  • Toor Dal - 2 tsp
  • mustard - 1 tsp
  • Curry leaves - 1 sprig
  • oil - 2 tsp
  • coriander leaves(chopped)- for garnishing
  • How to Make Easy Rasam Recipe(Kottu Rasam):

    1. Boil tamarind juice, turmeric powder, salt, and hing nicely until the raw smell of tamarind goes.
    2. squeeze the tomatoes and add the tomato water as required. Boil for a while.
    3. Switch off the flame and set aside. In a kadai, add oil, mustard seeds, broken red chillies, and toor dal.
    4. When mustard seeds splutter and toor dal turns golden, add curry leaves.
    5. Add this to the prepared rasam and garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
    6. Rasam is ready to serve with hot rice and pappad.
