  • 3 cups - Milk
  • 1 cup - water
  • 100 g - vermicelli
  • 1 cup - Sugar
  • 2 tsps - Ghee
  • 4 - Cardamoms
  • Optional - Saffron strands
  • 12 - cashews
  • 12- Raisins
  • How to Make Easy Semiya Payasam:

    1. Heat a pan. Heat 1 tsp of ghee.
    2. Add raisins and stir until they bloat. Remove immediately to a plate.
    3. Now add cashew nuts and stir till golden. Remove to a plate.
    4. Add 1 more tsp of ghee. Add vermicelli and stir slowly till it becomes a golden colour. Keep aside.
    5. Boil milk and water in a vessel. Stir frequently.
    6. Add sugar and cardamom. Continue stirring and bring to a boil.
    7. Now add vermicelli and stir once again until it boils.
    8. Remove from heat and keep the lid closed for some time (about 1/2 hour) until vermicelli is cooked.
    9. Now garnish with cashew, raisins and saffron.
