Shahi Tukda is a delicious Indian dessert served during all festivals. The recipe is made of bread soaked in condensed milk and garnished with yummy pistachios.


  • 1 litre - Fresh Milk
  • 4-5 - Bread Slices (trimmed)
  • 1 tin - Condensed Milk
  • Cardamom flavour-optional
  • 3/4 cup -Sugar
  • 2 tbsp - Ghee
  • 1 pinch - Saffron (dissolved in 1 tsp hot water)
  • For Garnishing:
  • 8-10 -Roasted Pistachios (sliced thin)
  • 5 - Badam (sliced thin)
  • How to Make Easy Shahi Tukra:

    1. Boil milk. To this add sugar, condensed milk and saffron.
    2. Cook milk on low flame for 15-20 mins till it thickens a little.
    3. Add the ingredients for garnishing, cook for 2 mins and keep it aside to cool to room temperature.
    4. Meanwhile, roast the bread slices on a tava after applying a little ghee evenly on both surfaces till it turns crispy. Take care not to brown them.
    5. Now cut these bread slices neatly into cubes (1 cm / 1 cm) and add these to the milk after the latter has cooled to room temperature.
    6. Refrigerate for 2 hours. The delicious shahi tukra is ready.
